Frequently Asked Questions

Find answers to common questions including: what is our training ethos, what is included in the program and where do we run our classes.

Question 1: What is the Complete Puppy Program?

It's the only puppy programme in Sydney that combines a home visit, 4 weeks of group puppy school, a 26-module online course, and ongoing support in one package. You get everything your puppy needs from the day they arrive home through to 8 months old. Not just the classroom piece.

Question 2: When should I start?

As early as possible. The window between 8 and 12 weeks is the most important period in your dog's development. The problems most owners struggle with at 6 or 12 months are largely preventable, but only if you start before they start.

Question 3: My puppy is already 14 weeks old. Have I missed the boat?

No. You can join at any point. Your puppy needs to be at least 12–13 weeks old and have their second vaccination to start group school. The online course and home sessions are available from day one regardless of age. If your puppy is older than 14 weeks you can join one of our adolescent programs

Question 4: What does the home visit actually cover?

We come to your home before puppy school begins and set up the foundations: routine, environment, crate setup, toileting, and the first rules your puppy needs to understand. It's the piece most programmes skip, and it's why so many dogs leave group school well-behaved and then regress at home.

Question 5: How is this different from other puppy schools in Sydney?

Most puppy schools are four sessions and done. We bundle the home visit, the group school, a fully produced online course, and phone and community support that runs until your dog is 8 months old. No other provider in Sydney packages all four elements together.

Question 6: Where are your puppy school locations?

We run classes in Paddington (308 Oxford Street), Zetland, Alexandria, Marrickville, and Neutral Bay. You choose the location that suits you when you book.

Question 7: Do you use treats, clickers, or punishment?

We use positive reinforcement and relational leadership. No shock collars, no prong collars, no force. The method works by getting your dog to choose to listen to you, rather than making them afraid of what happens if they don't.

Question 8: What are the three tiers and what's the difference?

Silver includes 1 home session, 4 weeks of puppy school, the online course, and 6 months of support. Gold adds 2 more home sessions on top of that. Platinum is the full experience: 10 home sessions, lifetime access to everything, training equipment included, and a maximum of 5 clients at any time. Most families start with Gold.

Question 9: How long does the programme run?

The in-person puppy school runs for 4 weeks when your puppy is 12–16 weeks old. The online course and support continue until your puppy is 8 months. Community access is lifetime.

Question 10: How many puppies are in each class?

Between 6 and 10. We match dogs by size and age to keep it safe and productive. It's a proper social experience with enough space to actually work.

Question 11: Can you guarantee my puppy will be well-behaved?

No trainer can guarantee that, and anyone who does is not being straight with you. What we can say is that owners who follow the programme consistently see real improvement within days, weeks, and months. The 1-1-1 rule: gradual progress in 1 day, 1 week, and 1 month. The work you put in at the beginning has a huge effect on what happens next.

Question 12: What common puppy problems does the programme cover?

Biting and nipping, toilet training, jumping up, barking, leash pulling, and the early signs of separation anxiety. We also cover socialisation — getting the number of interactions right in the first 6 months makes a real difference to how your dog handles the world at 1, 2, and 5 years old. Most of these problems are preventable. That's the whole point of starting early.

Question 13: What qualifications do your trainers have?

All trainers are accredited through the Dog Trainer Academy, Red Cross Australia Pet First Aid certified, and AFP background checked. We trained under Dan Abdelnoor, who built the relational leadership method used by trainers across Australia.

Question 14: What support do I get outside of the sessions?

Phone, chat, email, and text support for 6 months (Silver and Gold) or lifetime (Platinum), plus access to our online community. If something goes sideways at 10pm on a Sunday, you have somewhere to turn.

Question 15: What does the online course actually cover?

There are 26 modules and they follow your puppy's development week by week, from before they arrive home through to 8 months old. Topics include the first 24 hours, toilet training, the 5 Golden Rules, command foundations, common puppy problems, breed-specific behaviour, and the adolescent phase. You can work through it at your own pace and come back to any module whenever you need it.

Does this sound familiar?

  • You brought your puppy home and within a week you were completely overwhelmed

  • You're getting conflicting advice from Instagram, TikTok, your vet, and your mate had a dog once

  • Your puppy is keeping you up at night and you don't know if what you're doing is normal

Don't worry, we can help!
